Description
An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of vintage English sterling silver two light candelabra in the George I style; an addition to our collection of vintage candle holders. These exceptional, fine and impressive vintage sterling silver taper candelabra have a classic 18th century English form. Each impressive two light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support two panelled capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used as taper candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The knopped stems are surmounted swept octagonal spreading bases; the base of each exceptional taper candelabrum is not weighted. Such examples in this size, utilised with taper candlesticks, are uncommon and highly desirable. This small vintage silver candelabra makes a thoughtful gift for weddings, anniversaries or housewarmings. Its compact form brings timeless elegance to intimate dinners and adds refined character to a mantelpiece, dining table or sideboard. Maker: John Henry Odell Origin: London, England
