Vintage Pilcher Silver Plated Dog Powder Compact c.1950

This charming vintage Pilcher powder compact dates circa 1950 and measures 7.8 cm by 6 cm. The case is made of shiny silver plated metal with applied silver plated dog, possibly an Airedale Terrier. The compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a shiny clean and unused interior. Under the lid is a glued glass mirror which has some desilvering at the edges but retains a good reflection. There is a sticker on the mirror that reads "Silver Plated by Pilcher". the powder well in the base shows little signs of use if any at all and retains the original sifter and Pilcher marked puff. This vintage powder compact is offered in good condition with clean, untarnished metal. There is a ding to the base and as mentioned above the mirror has some desilvering to the edges only. Nothing further is found.
