Vintage Scottish Silver Targe Shield Brooch Hallmarked Chester in 1936

A heavy and solid, vintage convex silver circular Celtic ship brooch made by Shipton & Son and hallmarked in Chester in 1936 and by Shipton and Co. decorated to the front with a Celtic Knot design surrounding a longship, possibly a Clan Galley, under sail and heading west to "Tir nan Og" and eternal life. Just over an inch across and with a good pin and "C" catch, it is small enough for a lapel brooch but possibly not suited to light fabrics. Cleaned to remove surface dirt. All is good.
