I hope to show case a small selection of Celtic jewellery, silver and bijouterie.
Mainly Scottish , Irish, Welsh, Brittany, Scandinavia and the Celtic people worldwide, to include what is generally considered to be Celtic design from non Celtic countries.
Small vintage silver Scottish clan or family brooch in the form of a circular garter with the motto.
"Semper Paratus" (always ready) in the upper section of the garter, the lower section has been nicely engraved, in the centre is a hand holding a blacksmith's hammer, just over an inch or 3 cm across, hallmarked to the rear Edinburgh 1956 and made and supplied by Medlock & Craik of Inverness, good pin and safety "C" catch.
The list of names connected with this motto are not complete, what I can find are here.
