Vintage Two-strand Pearl Necklace with Emerald and Diamond Gold Floral Clasp London 1973

A fabulous two-strand cultured pearl necklace featuring a magnificent emerald and diamond floral clasp, hallmarked for London 1973. The individually hand-knotted cultured pearls have a beautiful creamy ivory hue with delicate silver-green and rose overtones and a deep, lustrous finish. Smooth and evenly matched, the pearls form two softly graduated strands which sit elegantly around the neckline. The wonderfully decorative 9 carat gold clasp is designed as a richly textured flower. At its centre is a deep green emerald surrounded by eight sparkling diamonds forming silvery-white petals, while six further emeralds are set among the sculpted gold leaves. The emeralds have a well-saturated green hue and provide a lovely contrast against the warm gold. Far too beautiful to be hidden, the floral clasp may be worn at the back in the traditional manner, or positioned at the front or side as the principal feature of the necklace.
