Vintage UnoAErre 9ct Gold Sculpted Swirl Hoop Earrings A fabulous pair of vintage Italian gold hoop earrings by the celebrated jewellery house UnoAErre, beautifully crafted in polished 9ct yellow gold. These stylish earrings have a wonderful sculptural quality. Each hoop is formed with softly sweeping, rounded lines that flow around the earring in a graceful swirling design, giving the classic gold hoop a distinctive and sophisticated Italian character. The design is bold without being heavy. Viewed from the front, the sculpted curves create an attractive sense of movement, while from the side the earrings have a sleek, polished profile. Their softly squared-off form gives them a particularly flattering shape when worn. UnoAErre was established in Arezzo in 1926 and became one of Italy's best-known gold jewellery manufacturers. The company's name developed from its historic 1AR goldsmith's identification mark. These earrings are a lovely example of the confident, polished Italian gold jewellery associated with the later twentieth century. I would date them to approximately the 1980s–1990s. Measuring 2.5cm long, they are large enough to make an impression while remaining light and comfortable at just 3 grams for the pair. The secure hinged post and clip fittings make them practical and easy to wear.
