Stunning Late Victorian / Early Edwardian country blackthorn wood and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane with a carnelian ball pommel. The silver was assayed in London as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1901 and makers mark for Charles Nicolet of Charterhouse Street and the retailer Sidnet Coke of 339 Oxford Street London. The silver collar is plain engraved "From Mr Snal Xmas 1902" The shaft is really strong and will support a good weight. It's a completely natural and genuine length of blackthorn which has been stained and polished. The nobbles are where the thorns have been removed. Gives a really natural country tactile feel to the cane. The ferrule is made brass. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
It measures 91 cm 35 3/4 inches in length, the pommel is 4.5 cm 1 3/4 inches wide.

It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age. The silver is good with no holes, splits or repairs. Surface marks as you can see in the pictures. The shaft is also excellent with no damage or repairs.
