Simply stunning coromandel wood and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane with an amethyst ball pommel. The silver was assayed in London as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1914 and has the makers mark for M Jacobs and the retailers mark for Brigg & Sons of London. One of the top retailers of walking sticks. Colourful piece of amethyst for the pommel top, which contrasts well with the grain in the coromandel shaft. This wood was very expensive even in the early 1900's. More often seen used in thin layers of veneer on boxes it's rare to find it used for a cane shaft. Very strong and a heavy wood so will support a good weight. Plain silver collar engraved with the initials EW. The ferrule is original and made of polished steel and brass that blends well with the wood grain. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
It measures 92 cm 36 1/4 inches in length, the pommel is 4.6 cm 1 13/16 inches wide.
