Lovely Macassar ebony and hallmarked silver walking stick or cane. The silver collar was assayed in London as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1925 and makers mark for Ernest Lory, stick mounter of St Johns Street, London. Macassar ebony is a good weight and dark in colour but does have lovely grain patterns unlike ordinary ebony. The golden grain, which shows better in natural light contrasts really well with the silver collar. The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel. It measures 94.5 cm 37 1/4 inches in length, the pommel is 3.7 cm 1 7/16 inches wide. The silver collar is 3.8 cm 1 1/2 inches long.
