Rare Edwardian silver collar walking stick or cane with a Monkey pommel. Black Forrest wood carved Monkey's head top with a rare to find articulated mouth and glass eyes. The eyes have black pupils with clear surrounds. The small lip under it's chin is the trigger that opens it's mouth. These articulated canes are hard to find especially in perfect working condition. The hallmark on the silver collar is for the London assay office with the date letter for 1924. The collar is fully hallmarked but unusually on the inside. It was loose when I got the cane so I took pictures before the collar was professionally refixed. The mark is for the London assay office as detailed above and has the makers mark for Henry Perkins & Sons. The ferrule is original and made brass. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
It measures 91.7 cm 36 1/8 inches in length, the pommel is 4.5 cm by 1 3/4 inches tall.

It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age. Some minor surface marks to the silver as shown but no holes or splits. The shaft is strong and also in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. The monkey is excellent with the mechanism fully working and good pressure on the spring that makes it work.
