Malacca and solid silver walking stick or cane. The silver isn't marked but has been tested as 925 quality. Possibly made in India for the English market as many canes like this were at the time. Plain silver pommel on a sturdy Malacca shaft. The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel. Early elongated design which distinguishes it's age. Perfect for an everyday cane. It measures 88 cm 34 5/8 inches in length, the pommel is 3.2 cm 1 1/4 inches wide and 5.3 cm 2 1/8 long.
Shires Antiques has clarified that the Walking Stick Cane Solid Silver Pommel Malacca Shaft c.1900 (LA336402) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being C1900
It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age. Some surface marks to the silver as shown but no damage or repairs. The Malacca shaft is strong with no damage or repairs.
