Description
Spring driven German striking Vienna Wall Clock. The Mahogany and glass case with hinged front door has good age patination and wonderfully hand-crafted embellishment, including a hand-carved portico shaped apex with additional finial garniture, base features and delightfully sculptured and fluted ebonised side half-columns. The original clean white enamel two-piece dial has black Roman numerals and a pair of original blued steel hands, all surrounded by a moulded brass bezel. The clocks quality 8-day German movement is a spring and pendulum driven mechanism, that strikes the hours and half-hours on its coiled gong and comes with its original gridiron regulator pendulum rod with brass bob, a porcelain aperture beat plaque and an authentic period winding key.
