An impressive barograph in polished hardwood signed on the brass baseplate by respected English retailers, Ross Ltd., 111, New Bond Street, London, circa 1925.. The lift-off lid has bevelled glass all round and there is a two-compartment chart drawer to the base which has a hardwood lining below - always a sign of quality!. A mercury thermometer with a Fahrenheit scale is fixed to the base and a blank brass plaque is fixed to the front of the case in a prominent position just above the chart drawer - which looks to be original and perfect to engrave for presentation..
Nice working condition with some age-related patina.
A quantity of weekly charts (millibars or inches scale) together with a fresh bottle of recording ink are included and also a reprinted period pamphlet by Negretti and Zambra Ltd describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
