A beautiful 1964 Record ladies' wristwatch in solid 9ct gold, complete with an attractive matching 9ct gold bracelet. The London hallmark inside the case back dates the watch to 1964. A particularly elegant example from the Swiss Record Watch Company, featuring a finely textured silvered dial with raised gilt Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, applied hour markers and matching gold-tone hands. The watch is powered by a Swiss-made 15-jewel hand-wound mechanical movement. Record was a respected Swiss watch manufacturer, producing its own movements before becoming part of Longines in the early 1960s. The solid gold case is stamped 375 for 9ct gold, with further 375 markings visible on the bracelet components. The original-style crown carries the Record emblem. The decorative articulated gold bracelet is a particularly attractive feature, giving the watch the appearance of a piece of vintage jewellery as much as a wristwatch.
