Watch: Gents 1940s Helvetia 3196P Wrist Watch

The watch has a 17-jewel Helvetia calibre 800C hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is plated, there is marking and pitting commensurate with the watch’s age. The screw-on case back is stainless steel. It states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, we would advise keeping it away from water and moisture. There is some scratching to the back. The inside of the case back is signed with the Helvetia name. The lens is in good condition (some reflection showing in the photos). The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands. There is some age related darkening to the dial, and fading to the numbers but still fine to read the time. A new leather strap has been fitted. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
