Watch: Gents 1940s Mido Multifort Bumper Automatic Wrist Watch

The watch has a 17 jewel, 3 adjustments, bumper automatic movement, which is working well. Early automatic movements such as this one relied on the rotor ‘bumping’ backwards and forwards between two springs to maintain the power within the movement. Later automatic watches have the fully rotational rotor. The watch itself measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is ‘rustless steel’ and it is in good condition with just general light surface marks. The screw on case back is signed Mido. It also states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture. The lens is in good condition. The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands (the infill has been removed at some stage). A new leather strap has been fitted. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
