ATP (Army Trade Pattern) watches were manufactured for the British Army from 1939 right up until the mid 1950s. 17 watch makers were commissioned to produce the watches to a certain set of specifications. The earlier examples had chrome plated cases with the later models having stainless steel cases.
The watch has a 15-jewel calibre 57 hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. It was designed as a full sized gents watch but, with today’s fashions, would suit a slimmer wrist. The case is in good condition. The castellated screw-on case back has the military pheon mark, together with the ATP mark and serial numbers.
The lens is in good condition.
The dial is unsigned… Revue was the only watch manufacturer to not sign some of their dials. It is believed that this watch has an MoD redial. It has darkened with age.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
All prices include UK postage (excluding Northern Ireland).
