Watch : Gents 1960s Certina Bristol 195 Wrist Watch

The watch has a good quality 27-jewel automatic movement, calibre 25-261, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed. The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the signed Certina winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in lovely condition. The inside of the screw-on case back is signed with the Certina name. The lens has minor marking but is very acceptable (there is some white reflection showing in the photos). The signed dial is in its original finish which has some freckling. It is signed Certina Bristol 195. Certina released various Bristol models, thought to be an attempt to break into the British market. The 195 relates to the case reference 190-5. The watch has an early form of quickset where the hands are repeatedly moved backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 11pm until the desired date is reached.
