Watch : Gents 1960s Ronet Wrist Watch

The watch has a 17-jewel movement, a Bifora calibre 115, which is working nicely. The movement is signed Ronet, a name registered by the Rone Watch Co of Bôle in Switzerland. Ronet would have bought the ebauche (blank movement) in from Bifora, to be assembled and sold under the Rone name. The watch measures 32.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in lovely condition. The case back is stainless steel. It states that the watch is water protected but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture. The lens is in lovely condition. The signed dial is in its original finish with original second sweep and a date display… an early form of quickset date which is set by moving the hands to 10 past midnight, when the date clicks over, and then anti clockwise to 9.30pm and then forwards again… keep going until the desired date is reached. A new leather strap has been fitted. The watch comes in a new presentation box. All prices include UK postage (excluding Northern Ireland).
