Watch: Gents 1970s Waltham Wrist Watch

The watch has a 25-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. Waltham bought it in from the movement manufacturer Fabrique d'Horlogerie Fontainemelon. The movement would originally have been signed with the Waltham name on the rotor but this rotor has been replaced over the years and it has a different name on it as the same movement calibre was supplied to various watch makers. The watch measures 34mm wide excluding the winding crown and 35mm high excluding the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in lovely condition. The stainless steel screw-on case back has some scratches where it has been removed in the past. The lens is in good condition. The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds hand and day / date display. The day is set by turning the hands repeatedly backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 10pm until the correct day is reached. Then the date is set by pulling the crown out to second position and turning accordingly. A new leather strap has been fitted. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
