Watch : Gents Longines Wrist Watch Conversion

The wrist watch has been created by adapting an antique pocket watch. Conversions such as this first became popular in the 1960s, and we would date this particular example back to that decade. The watch has a calibre 18.69N stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Longines name and it has the serial number 3,392,353 which dates it back to 1916. The movement is protected by an inner cover which is also signed with the Longines name, this inner cover has slight unevenness and some surface rubbing. The watch measures 48.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the articulated lugs. The case is nickel and it is in good condition, just a little unevenness to the hinged case back. The inside of the case back has the Longines logo. The glass lens has minor marks across it but not very noticeable to the naked eye. The signed dial has a faint hairline running from number 12 towards the centre but it is quite faint. Original blued steel hands. The watch has a vintage leather strap… this could be replaced with a new strap if required. The watch comes in a new presentation box. All prices include UK postage (excluding Northern Ireland).
