Watch: Mid-size 1950s Yeoman Wrist Watch

The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Yeoman, a brand name registered by Adie Brothers of Birmingham in 1929. They would have bought either the movements in to be cased and prepared for wholesale within the UK. The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the handsomely shaped lugs so it is classed as a mid-size or unisex piece. The case is plated and the case back is stainless steel. There is general light surface marking but overall the condition is good for an early piece. The later lens is in lovely condition. The signed dial has its original hands, and red centre seconds hand. Originally the numbers and hands would have had luminous detail but this has been removed over the years, probably because of the radium content. Very light freckling across the dial but not too detrimental at all. A new leather strap has been fitted. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
