Description
A stylish antique Wedgwood Etruria boat shaped pedestal creamware pottery salt decorated with an acorn pattern and dating from 1882. The salt stands raised on a small diamond shaped foot with a narrow oval shaped stem with an oval boat shaped body raised slightly to either end. The body is decorated with two printed brown twigs with acorns and leaves tied together with a ribbon and painted in green, pink and brown colors. The pattern is repeated on both sides of the salt and set within a simple brown line border with a similar border applied around the foot. The salt has printed and impressed makers marks to the base along with date marks for 1882 and also has a printed retailers mark J & P. In good condition with a few minor surface glaze nicks to the line patterns.
