This is a really stunning William IV or possibly early Victorian library or centre table. The top of a well figured Walnut sits above two frieze drawers opposing two faux drawers with original locks (new keys can be obtained if required) and solid Rosewood turned handles. The design with it's rounded corners and faux or dummy drawers on the opposite side means the table can be viewed all the way around, there is no unfinished back to the table, so it looks good from any angle. All in all a very understated design which has a strong presence and stands well. The table is set on block supports and horizontal brackets with round turned feet with original concealed casters.
Celia Rose Antiques has clarified that the William IV Rosewood Library Table / Centre Table (LA47411) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1835
