Wonderful second period Longcase Clock – ca1880
Fine longcase clock
Wonderful painted dial and finely cut hands
Dial has date aperture & subsidiary seconds dial
Mahogany case with satinwood & boxwood stringing
8 day bell striking movement
Working order recently serviced by a professional horologist
Measures 202cm up by 47cm wide & 22cm deep
Wonderful Long case grandfather clock made in Bridport by a John Cleak.
The hood is flanked by two barley twist brass capped pillars. The top has broken swan neck pediment capped with brass ormolu finials and eagle and spere finial. Painted dial with makers name and town. Mahogany case with satinwood and boxwood stringing, lovely untouched patina to the wood.
