Frank Wood - Artist

Frank Wood born locally in 1862 in Berwick Upon Tweed was a naval officer and a ships' artist in his early life. He became a professional artist in 1899, moved to Portsmouth in 1906 to focus on painting ships. In 1903 he sold a painting to King Edward VII as well as Queen Alexandria purchased his work, he was one of the most popular marine artists of the early 20th century.
