Karl Ens (1867 - c.1940s) was a renowned German ceramist and founder of the Porzellanfabrik Karl Ens in Volkstedt, Thuringia. Operating from 1899, the factory achieved international fame for its hand-painted Art Nouveau porcelain, particularly its highly lifelike and intricate figurines of birds and animals.His journey in porcelain began in his youth, honing his skills under the guidance of his father, Eduard. After initially helping run his father's porcelain company (Triebner, Ens & Co.), Karl struck out on his own in 1899.
