Paul Jones (1855 - 1888) was a painter of sporting scenes, very often of game dogs. He was an enthusiastic terrier man, depicting them rabbiting or chasing cats and rats. Included amongst his works are a number of shooting scenes. He is thought to be the son of Samuel John Egbert Jones. His works are known for their small dimensions and his careful painting technique and close attention to detail.
