Peter Gilman (1928-1984) was born in Surrey and later lived in Bedfordshire. He was a professional marine and landscape artist painting in oils, acrylics, and watercolours.
Peter was a member of the Wapping Group of Artists, and exhibited regularly at the Royal Society of Marine Artists Annual Exhibitions, the Chelsea Art Society and widely in this country and abroad. He was the winner of the John Goss prize at the1984 Hertford Art Society annual exhibition. His work is held in many private collections, including that of the Royal Family.
