Rosa Bonheur - Artist

Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899) was among the most celebrated animal painters of the 19th century and one of the most important female artists in European art history. Associated with the French Realist movement, she achieved international acclaim for her exceptional equestrian and animal subjects, including her masterpiece The Horse Fair held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
