Description
Lovely Anglo-American striking wall clock. The handcrafted case being made in England (almost certainly in either London or Liverpool), and the movement being imported from the United States.
• Hinged full-length glazed front door, incorporating a spun brass bezel.
• Highly decorative and beautifully patinated mahogany and oak case with fruitwood, ebony & boxwood marquetry.
• Designed with scarce 2-piece Ogee base, separated by rolled scrolls.
• Clock retains much of its original hand-crafted timber embellishment, including finials, turned side-columns and internal fretwork.
• Original painted metal dial with black Roman numerals.
• Original blued steel Maltese Cross hands.
• Original case-back mirror secured to the rear of the drop-down aperture.
• Efficient 8-day unnamed American pendulum driven movement, set between two skeleton brass plates.
• Clock strikes its original cast iron bell on the hours.
• Comes with its original mercurial shaped pendulum and brass winding key.
