18th Century Oak Table Box, Dated 1757 & Initialed I W

Offered for sale is this boarded oak table box or bible box of dovetailed construction, with a sloping lid enclosing the storage area and two little drawers. The front of the box has been carved with the initials ‘I W’ and the date 1757. This box is a nice size and has good colour and patina. The two little drawers inside have ring pull handles. The hinges and lock-plate appear to be original. This is an antique item and as such may have signs of wear in accordance with its age.
