This 1940s Art Deco Mirror with light port wine coloured mirror sections is a rare find.
The mirror consist of five individual pieces, a large centre plate and four quarter round coloured mirrored sections.
The centre plate is square or diamond shaped dependent on how it's hung, it has deep scalloped edges on each corner which aligned with the outer mirrored sections. It also has a circular linear design, top cut, which again aligns with the coloured mirrored outer sections.
The four mirrored outer sections are quite a rare colour for these types of mirrors, the purple/port wine mirror pieces are few and far between. Each of these pieces has a top cut linear design which aligns with the centre plate, providing an outer circle which runs adjacent to the inner circle. Each of these pieces has a deep scallop edge which aligns with the corners of the centre plate.
This mirror is in very good condition, with no chips, nibbles or deep scratches and the reflexivity is very good. There is some extremely minor silvering loss on the extreme edges of the mirror (see pics). This does not detract from this fantastic Deco piece.
All five pieces are mounted on a wooden backboard and attached with traditional metal clips, the original fixtures and fittings are on the rear also.
