1960s Pearl & Diamond Cluster Earrings in 18ct Gold – Vintage Pearls 11.5 Grams

A beautiful and substantial pair of 1960s cultured pearl and diamond cluster earrings, finely crafted in 18ct yellow gold. Designed as elegant flowerhead clusters, each earring is centred with a lustrous cultured pearl surrounded by a further six beautifully matched pearls. Sparkling brilliant-cut diamonds are delicately set between the pearls, creating a wonderfully rich and feminine design. The pearls measure approximately 5.5mm and display an attractive creamy silver colour with soft pink overtones. They are particularly well matched, with a smooth surface and lovely lustre. A total of 24 round brilliant-cut diamonds, each measuring approximately 1.5mm, are individually claw set in yellow gold between the pearls. Their combined estimated weight is approximately 0.35 carat, adding a lovely sparkle throughout the design without detracting from the softness of the pearls. Measuring approximately 17.5mm across, with a rise of approximately 8.5mm, the earrings have excellent presence on the ear. Their substantial three-dimensional construction is particularly flattering when worn. Crafted in solid 18ct yellow gold, the reverse of each earring carries Birmingham hallmarks together with the maker's mark T J. They date to the 1960s. Fitted with secure posts and hinged omega clip fittings for pierced ears, they sit comfortably and securely on the earlobe.
