Description
19th Century framed mirror from France. The originally gilded frame has been stripped to reveal the original Red & White 'Bole' underlay and decorative 'Gesso' mouldings.
The mercury silvering is now pleasingly 'foxed' - see photos .
The mirror measures 78cm x 62cm (31" x 24.5 inches) and can be hung either portrait or landscape.
(As an alternative, at reasonable extra cost we can replace the original foxed mirror with a new silvered mirror glass, bevelled or not bevelled.)
Made in France circa 1875-1900. In Good Worn Condition as described with a 'Distressed' look. (See smaller matching French wall mirror in this shop)
