Description
A very good quality 19th century mahogany writing desk, the top with the original black tooled leather inset, well shaped rounded corners, two drawers beautifully lined, one stamped by the cabinet makers Johnstone & Jeanes 67 New Bond Street. A very well proportioned desk, standing on shaped ends with good round feet, brass castors and supporting stretchers. The original table desk, has a polished back for free standing, all in very good condition, a seating height of 65cm, made by Johnstone & Jeanes around 1840, all ready for use.
Johnstone & Jeanes were well reputed cabinet makers, they exhibited at the Great Exhibition in 1851.
