2 Original Watercolours 'near Tiberius' and 'galilee'both Dated 1938 and Inscribed. Barbara Lady Brassey. 1911-2010

2 good historical watercolours by Barbara Lady Brassey painted in 1938 while she was stationed in the Middle East with her then husband Lt. Col. Herbert Campbell Westmorland. Barbara Rogenson was born of Scandinavian parents in 1911 and attended the Royal Academy School of Art in the early 1930’s. There she won the silver medal for painting. She became a specialist painter of stalking and hunting paintings in the 1930’s , this being encouraged by her mentor and friends George Edward Lodge and Lionel Edwards, the famous sporting artists. After the war she had many one man shows in London (including the Tryon Gallery) and Scotland and her work was much sought after by collectors. Provenance; Purchased by me from Barbara's studio.
