6 Mid Century Teak Afromosia Armchairs by Gordon Russell c.1960

A good set of 6 mid century Afromosia teak armchairs by favoured English designer Gordon Russell. A number of the chairs have the Russell makers copper badge underneath the seat. Firstly these are going to need reupholstering due to the seat fillings turning firm and powdery. We have a price from Mark our Upholsterer which is £135 plus Vat per chair plus you would require approximately 1 metre of fabric per chair depending on pattern etc. Otherwise please feel free to purchase as is and reupholster yourself. They are a wonderful and lesser seen model/design from Russell with some marvellous angles, finger joints to the front of the arms, well shaped backs and seats and well chosen deep toned timber. One of Gordon Russell’s best chairs of the era. All the chairs sit in good order with no repairs to the frames, no wobbles just day to day wear and knocks and bumps. Price is for the set not one.
