A gilt dial with individual enamel cartouche Roman numerals. Ornate blued steel hands. A well cast gilt dial bezel surround and bevelled glass. A glass front panel showing the original decorative gilt pendulum. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell signed Japay Freres. Circa 1880.
