I specialise in affordable original artworks - mainly traditional watercolours and oil paintings but I also have a range of contemporary artworks including limited edition lithographic prints. I also stock a limited selection of antiques and collectables, including silver, ceramics and glass. My shop in Abingdon on Thames is now closed and my business is mostly online. My website, www.artandstuffgallery.com has a gallery section with several mini-galleries where my items are displayed, including more contemporary items not shown on LoveAntiques.

Description
A fine etching by William Walcot (1874-1943) of The Thames, showing the North bank with St Paul's dominant on the skyline. Walcot was born in Ukraine of Scottish/Russian parentage and initially became an architect in the art nouveau style. He moved to London in 1907 and became a celebrated architectural draughtsman in the 1920s/30s. He became a member of Royal Society of British Artists in 1913 and Royal Society of Painter-Etchers & Engravers in 1920. Sadly his practice collapsed after Wwii and he committed suicide in 1943. Published in 1913. Signed by the artist lower right and bearing Chadwick Gallery, Warwickshire label verso.
