An absolutely gorgeous Victorian spinning Albert fob with carnelian and bloodstone panels. This is probably the largest of this type of fob we have ever seen. X-ray tested. Dates to middle of the 19th Century (c1850s) The style is classic Victorian, of very sturdy construction and high quality. Features a lovely gold twist design with a classic dual gemstone spinner fob. It is all in excellent order and neither panel is engraved. Gemstones: Oval cabochon intaglio panels of carnelian and bloodstone measuring approx 29mm x 22mm each. Has a large twist bail to the top and could be attached to almost anything but most commonly to a watch chain or as a pendant on a necklace. Condition is excellent, especially considering its age. I can polish to "as new" for a small fee. Length is 50mm. Width is 31 mm. It sits 11 mm proud. I do not use professional photographers (you'd just have to pay more if I did) and do not photoshop or enhance pictures in any way. I simply take macro pictures in a homemade lightbox to provide the most honest portrayal possible. I clean lightly before snapping but do not polish to "as new" though this can obviously be done. It is only my opinion but I feel antique items that are polished too much lose some of the character. I will always note any faults and will always answer honestly when asked regarding any imperfections.
