This is an antique artist's brush pot. A Chinese, carved bamboo treen, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. Enthusiastically carved detail within a broad bamboo trunk. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order. Bamboo shows appealing grain interest and rich caramel hues. Striking front scene with figures upon a stage, ahead of copious leaf detail. Large phoenix within oval medallions adorn the sides. Trio of smaller carved panels decorating the rear.
