This is an antique butcher's shop display figure. An English, plasterwork commercial advertising pig in uniform on marble plinth, dating to the Edwardian period and later, circa 1910.
Wonderful British retail history with this charming shop window figure. Displays a desirable aged patina in good historic order, commensurate with use. Quality plasterwork with hand-painted finish and excellent anthropomorphic form.
Presented upon a cool, tactile Carrara Marble plinth base
Later Ivoroid rotating price placard adds further display appeal.
