Antique Campaign Style Brass Bound Box c.1850

A good quality antique campaign-style brass-bound box dating to around 1850. The beautiful mahogany box is decorated with shaped brass corner fittings with brass banding, escutcheon and uninscribed cartouche. With recessed brass handles to sides and front drawer. The interior has been professionally renovated with the red leather interior being a mix of original and new lidded compartments and an original correspondence folder in the lid. There is also a replacement removable mirror flanked by red leather cardholders. There is a pen holder and a lift-out tray with storage space below. The 4 crystal scent bottles are modern replacements. Chubb working lock and key. To the right of the lock is a brass pin which when removed releases the drawer below which is opened by the flush campaign brass handle. This stunning box has been sympathetically refurbished retaining many original features and therefore its character.
