This is an antique Canterbury stand. An English, burr walnut three sectioned magazine or newspaper rack, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Striking craftsmanship, ideal for the living room or conservatory, displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout. Select burr stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues. Upper arranged as a trio of segments, ideal for publications or sheet music. Fascinating shaped divisions with a wave shape motif. Carved finials adorn each corner of the upper frame. Frame supported upon an eye-catching set of fluted spindles. Useful drawer to base adds further storage, dressed with a pair of circular pulls.
