Description
This is a beautiful 19th century Chinese blue and white porcelain Kamcheng jar. ‘Kamcheng’ means ‘covered jar’, and this was most likely used for storing either rice or ginger. It is painted all over with lotus flower decoration, and has a foo dog finial to the cover.
This item dates from the late Qing dynasty period, early 19th century.

condition
There is a starburst fault in the underside of the lid which doesn’t transfer through to the outside. There are a few typical flaws and pinholes in the material, but no damage or restoration.
