Early 19th Century hand painted Coat of Arms A finely executed 19th century hand painted miniature family coat of arms, beautifully rendered in watercolour and ink on paper. The armorial features a central shield of deep red (gules) bordered in green, displaying a proud golden cockerel a traditional heraldic symbol of vigilance and courage. Above the shield sits a knightly helm with flowing crimson and silver mantling, surmounted by a lion’s head crest, signifying strength and leadership. Beneath the shield is a scroll bearing the Latin motto “AMOR PATITUR MORAS”, translating to “Love endures delays”, with the Amor inscribed below. Crest is painted on paper with natural toning and foxing, giving it a charming period character. Watercolour is framed in wooden gilt frame.
