This is an antique corner armchair. An English, mahogany dressing seat in Georgia revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890. Superb corner chair in the Georgian revival style that displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks shows fine grain interest throughout. Warm, rich caramel hues dance across the distinctive corner form. Rolled crest rail meets the wonderful horseshoe arms with turned out knuckles. Striking pierced lyre backs framed by a trio of turned baluster supports. Traditionally stuffed diamond-shaped seat cushion at a comfortable height of 43cm. Professionally reupholstered in fine, paisley pattern brushed cotton. Broad knees accentuated with relief carved oak leaf details. Cabriole legs terminate in excellent ball and claw feet, with defined detail. Each leg united with a cross stretcher of turned spindle form.
