Antique Davenport 'Chinoiserie Ruins' Meat Drainer

A rare 19th century blue and white pearlware meat drainer made by Davenport in the ‘Chinoiserie Ruins’ pattern c1820, bearing the Davenport pottery impressed anchor mark to the rear. Meat drainers were made to sit into the recess at the bottom of a large meat plate to allow the juices to drain away from the joint of meat. They are highly collectible and look fantastic displayed either on a dresser or shelf, or arranged on a wall. This one was made by Davenport in around 1820 and is decorated with their beautiful Chinoiserie Ruins pattern.
