Antique late 18th century Georgian chest of drawers in mahogany, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship. It has two short drawers over three long graduated drawers, all cockbeaded and fitted with oval brass plate handles with beaded borders, with keyholes to the long drawers. The drawers are well made and lined in oak. The chest has a moulded top edge and a moulded base, and stands on four ogee bracket feet, classic features of the George III period. The mahogany displays a stunning flame-figured grain to the drawer fronts and a deep, rich colour, with a lovely original patina throughout. Presented in good condition, it is a very desirable Georgian chest of drawers, perfect for a bedroom, hallway or living room.
